Today I caught a MASSIVE hornet !! with pics !!!

kill it......they kill bees which are a tad mor important to our eco system.....horrid thing them hornets.....they still have one in my old school in a bottle with my name on it....I caught it for our nature table

good point... if i can catch it again on tuesday i will keep it in the bottle !!

Hornets are solitary and fairly even-tempered, and there aren't that many of them about. I doubt they kill enough bees to make a difference to anything. I wouldn't kill it.

Maybe your right but bees are in decline and one hornet could kill many many bees in its life time......but as you say,one more wont hurt

Bees look much nicer / friendlier here's ones I caught earlier (about three weeks ago) :

That's under a SIS shaker jug so it's quite a big bugger especially when your trying to catch it in quite a small room without hurting it and all it wants to do is chase the back of your head

The GF was in bed but I was that impressed with my catch I took it up to show her, she didn't share the same interest ...

check these babies out
mud dauber wasps
used to have em where i lived in florida, couldnt kill the buggers they just kept coming for you. I hit on with a broom about ten times before it gave up once
they are huge too

yeah they love spiders too
got bit of some nasty spider a few times, bite areas swelled up like a ballon.
Had plenty of false BWs about but dont know if it were them

Funniest thing was coming home to an aligator snapper in my room one day lol
