Some of you might have seen these on STW:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/t ... bashgaurds

I bought one in 4-bolt, 104mm BCD, 2mm, to cover up to 36t rings.

Then I changed plans and bought a 5-bolt compact crankset...

So for sale is one never been fitted ti bashguard, very very sexy 8)
I think they suit a retro build much better than a flashy modern thing, but then I'm biased....

£20 posted.

Thanks for looking at my first notentirelygarbledandconfusing for sale thread...

VERY nice.
I'd love one, but I haven't adopted compact bolt-spacing yet. Still using all 5-arm 110mm BCD. And 4-arm cranks are the work of the devil

Profile BMX used to CNC a 1-piece ring with bashguard. But I guess it was complex to make and so the price was hideous.

Chainguards, hub-gears, brooks saddles, swoopy bars, 29er wheels - We'll all be riding classic Dutch Oma-fiets next

This one's sold and on it's way to the Netherlands this afternoon - who knows what bike it may be destined for...

You're quite right though, I think that for a while we got so narrow in our idea of how bikes should be, and stuck on having the right bike for a particular type of riding, that people must be starting to branch out again and realise you can have fun on (almost) anything.
Maybe

And before someone jumps in: you lot aren't representative of the credit-card touting masses! :P

There's an Aussie (I think) company making nice-looking rings with twin replacable guards for 1x9 set ups, but that's not cheap either & looks very much like what we used to use on 'cross bikes (1x6 though, I think!)...

Anyway, more importantly - I can find out if there're any non-compacts still available if you'd like...?
Not wishing to tempt at all

That would be good - Thanks!

I'd need to know the maximum tooth size too, please.
I think I have a 46T on one of my singlespeeds
(For SS, max chain-wrap = moar betterer)

Sent Nick a message, fairly sure they only went up to 36t max though... :(

4-bolt in the post this afternoon and on it's way to the home of
everyone's favourite Europeans 8)
