The frame is back at last! ....New Pics 12/07/2010

The fork decals are shameful! But the frame looks very nice. I'd get the fork fixed, and push for your fade on the fork legs, but the frame, at least in pictures, is top notch! 8)

Top notch it may well be but it's nothing like what was ordered. It may as well be black and white stripes.

I've rung them this morning, I was very polite about it and Dave has happily agreed to re-paint which is a weight from my shoulders. Will be taking the frame and lowers back in person on Monday and making sure everything is explained in detail again, I am even doing sketches of correct logo placement too. Just hoping this doesn't take another five months!

thats good. they should have the decency to treat this as urgent.
i bet you feel a lot better about it now?
fingers crossed.

Been a wee while!

Got through to see Dave at ColourTech today and discussed everything in tiniest detail including giving him various photo's to show the paint job (again) and the decal placement for everything. Having met him I can say he is a really nice bloke, he's also an incredibly busy bloke, saw several Rock Lobster and Roberts frames there waiting for paint jobs all hung up on the racking.

We spoke about the 'Team Violet' colour and the hard part is with the lacquer on the top, the more red they put in the redder the lilac becomes and thus won't be lilac anymore! SO.... what I have done is opted for a red 'flip' coat on the top as opposed to tinted lacquer which gives a mother of pearl effect. On a dull day it will be lilac and blue, however on a sunny day it will create a red sheen to the lilac paint underneath (and a purple sheen to the blue). I'm personally very happy with that.

He's so busy which kind-of explains the delay before, he's promised a two week turn around this time though. Finger's crossed.

Nice one! The colour you've chosen sound amazing, and to think you may end up with something better than you originally wanted! That's great news :D

I've just spoken with Dr S about this in PM and he's said the red mother of pearl on top of the lilac is the correct way to get the Team Violet so looks like I FINALLY got the formula correct!

HOORRRAAAAYYYYYY

*dances a little jig in chair*

Well pleased you got the first part of the right result... looking forward to seeing this done properly in the timeframe specified... fingers crossed for you fella 8)
