The frame is back at last! ....New Pics 12/07/2010

It's the length of time they took to do the frame and get it back to me...... I'm gonna sleep on it and see what I think tomorrow. As it stands.... I'm tempted to send the whole thing back to be re-done properly..... god knows how long this is going to take.

That's gonna hurt.  and you could do some damage.
Better off using a bed....

Sorry, couldn't resist

Man that sucks! If it was me I would quite politely but sternly tell them they either need to re do it or refund my money as it is not what I paid for! Did you provide them with instructions in writing saying what you wanted? If so they haven't got a leg to stand on!

Personally I would hope to get a refund and go somewhere else! (I wouldn't trust them to get it right the second time especially if they are losing money on it)

All that being said it does (with the exeption of the fork decals) look to be a decent finish. But that means nothing if it is not what you paid them to do!

Gutted for you. I also think the frame looks great but if you decide to keep it they should be refunding you a substantial amount in my mind.

I take it you have not spoken to them yet?

Was the order done in writing?

Really hope they sort this for you.

Agree with the other chaps , looks awesome . Shame it's not what you actually asked for :(

I've saved a pic because it makes it doubley cool to think I used to ride that frame 30 miles a day to work and back when I had my own shop .

Everything was done via email including copies of Fat Chances, close ups to show the red lacquer and the tones of the paint etc, plus details of where the decals need to go via photo's of other Konas - note the 'Kona Custom' decal on the seat stay and not the back end of the top tube.

I think I am going to return the frame and lowers, giving them a six week deadline for it to get back.

Hi Lee,

I was beginning to think you would never get this frame back!

Actually, although not what you asked for, the frame looks really awesome, i'd keep it like this.

Fork decals need sorting though... are they on top or under lacquer? if on top, consider doing the new decals sticking yourself and hang on to everything now if you can. In my experience, once things start to go wrong things just go from bad to worse when you try to get things sorted.

Really does look fantastic, and nice that its not a total copy of a FAT paint job.

Cheer up pal :)

Chaser.

PS. Are you going to do a hot rod job on Judy internals/seals? I remember we discussed this a few weeks ago. I just put some Enduro seals on my Judy XC - really great seals.

I'd send it back no question and get them to do what you asked them to do.....it sounds like you were pretty clear in your description of the work....

Does the job meet the description? ....No. Not good enough....must try harder.

The paint doesn't look bad but it's not what you want....

Good luck, hope it works out....
