Retro Newbie
I got this late 90s Fox Vanilla R coil shock from a Marin Mount Vision mk1 frame. My primary frame, Mount Vision Pro 1999 came with a Float R that I replaced with a nice modern Suntour SR21 Edge LOR, but I though making a spare winter beater shock from the Vanilla coil would be a fun exercise.
Starting off, bleeding the rubber bead-sealed IFP with a needle and opening the thing up, first hick-up was the wrong end of the damn thing unthreading
Gonna need to stick the IFP end cap on with some red threadlock, and try again with more heat.
I don't fancy the rubber bead style IFP sealing on these Fox shocks, so I drilled the cap out and ordered a schrader valve for the thing. Guess I'm gonna tap some M8 thread on the end cap and seal it with JB-Weld.
Also I got a seal kit from Canada on the way.
