the coolest mtb's...

Pace RC200 would probably get my vote, or an original and well speccd Zaskar.

Campag equipped 80s/early 90 s Bianchi road bike - I know its not an MTB but nor are those Raleighs!

Who do you think made the coolest bikes, doesnt have to be the best, most expensive or technically advanced, just who done the bikes with the most street cred and cool factor 8)
Crikey greenfinger you've done it now! Of all the questions to ask, this is the one that is guaranteed to get retrobikers in a fluster.

But for me any bike can be cool, if it's done in the right way.

i like to see all the different opinions and tastes. even if none of them include old treks  but i think you're right, it really does depend how you do the bike, if done in a cool way....it'll be cool 8) simple :D

If you consider yourself a Geek great, but don't tar everyone on here with the geek brush.
I am Ed. I am self aware. I am geek.
Wise words Ed, as ever.

I'm afraid the truth is that to a train-spotter, number 86438 that used to run from Darlington to Scunthorpe might be the height of cool. But it isn't.

One of my friends has a Ritchey Everest from 1981. ($600 on Ebay, half what it sold for new, 20 years earlier!) At that time the demand was low, and Tom Ritchey could take his time on each bike.

They are jewelry, but there aren't more than a couple of hundred in the world, if that many. This is the nicest "retro" mountain bike anyone could ever own.

I like his bike more than I like my 1983 Ritchey Annapurna, also a super retro bike.
