The birds cometh

I have just been standing outside my house with the missus watching the return of the starlings,,,,they have not roosted en-masse near my house since about 1980 when the council in their wisdom killed thousands of them.....

What an amazing sight it is

There are literally hundreds of thousands of them :shock: :shock:

In front of my house is a large area of parkland with some big trees.....(the ones that are left after the recent....er....landscaping :roll: )

suspect they are going to roost there....now going to see where they come down.......

There's a roost of thousands in a cluster of trees up the road from me, I seriously would not like to live there with all the noise they make when they're not in the air, but we have spent many an evening over the past month in absolute awe at the beauty of their formation flying

You should have posted that on one of lgfs topics really mate....they like the jokes about such things as body odour etc......

The starlings have landed about 200 yards away just a few minutes ago.....they have gone totally silent now....but you can see them in the trees........ :shock: they look like a massive swarm of bees
