team issue control tech

Bikemoto

Dirt Disciple
Bought this off a man who told me it was a limited edition Control Tech team. Ibis had these branded under the name, "szasbo" Im not well versed enough in the history of who welded theses urt frames and if this bike is "legit" All I know is its Full Control tech components with Whit Industries cranks and hubs. I believed the guy. Either way its a cool bike. Im a huge Lawwill fan also. Love this funky medina.

That is a control tech branded Ibis Szasbo.
Ibis produced those under the sweet spot license owned by John Castellano.

Really nice bike, you have there.

If you want to ride it, opt for a more modern shock. Fox RP23 or the likes. Rebound control and adjustment is key here.

And dont think of it as a downhill bike, it isn't. It is more a hardtail with suspension. ;)

thats so "Not a DH bike" as Thias points out its a sweet spot design which was XC inspired using URT technology. - check out the Pink Bike right up below as this will join all the Dots up

nice set up though and share the same technology as my Schwinn which was also built by Control Tech (see pg1 in link in thread below)

the interesting thing with yours is a copy of the 1994 Ibis Szazbo with cantilever set up which makes it an early Sweet Spot model and pre-dates the later Control Tech version that mine mimics....

great condition by the way :D

if you've got 5 mins it's an interesting read even for the neutral or hard-line URT hater
