Absolutely not taking you wrong and completely understand (I hope) where you're coming from.....When I decided on the frame I spent a while on Evil Bay until I found one I thought I'd be happy with thinking "ok - it's great frame and I'll just chuck a load of up to date components on it..." .....I've since drawn breath....and have now boldly stepped down from 27 to 24 speed :shock: .....so now I'm in unchartered territory and relying on everybody elses advice and enthusiasm to help me towards a finishing a ride that I intend to get covered in mud and not photographed everywhere I'll take it....( ok...I'm lying about that last bit )

The front mech wants to be a M738. Bottom swing,bottom pull. I always fit bottom swing front mechs.Look so much better than top swing IMO.

Phew !! ....ok....I'll go for function first.....I can always change over when it starts to bother me (probably in about ten minutes time now that you've mentioned it ) ....thanks for the tip though
