I discovered the (German made I think) - Velo hinge (not cheap - mk1 is £25ish if you shop around, but the latest version is £45ea). Still it worked for me in the space we had - and all the modern bikes we use are neatly stacked and folded away - with the two Scott eBikes - mounted underneath using an old pair of "Mountain Ledge" crank arm holders (if anyone remembers those from the '90s) . A good use of the limited space there to store 7 bikes), I was pleased with the solution (but probably not the cost of finding 5 matching Velo hinges).

yes I saw those two and probably better for your wheels too - as they are supported by the tyres and still hinged - 👍 gets my vote as an even better solution really

PS I love your Kestrel MTB - that was one of my dream bikes as a lad - but so where the Merlin/Ridgeback that appeared with it in the same Freewheel catalogue. I did own the Ridgeback 704XT with Tange switchblades, that was from the same catalogue, I wished I hadn't sold that and am looking for another as a nostalgia thing.

(love the Odyssey stem on the Kestrel too - I had one of those back in the day on my '88 Muddy Fox - they were brilliant stems.) I have recently found another one in the US in 100mm - the sorter ones were hard to find. and that is meant to be on its way from the US to me now - postage and customs will no doubt cost more that I paid for it, but it shoudl be useful for period builds in future)

in another store of mine I have the somewhat hefty HipLoc frame locks I use on my brother and my Cube eMTBs but they work quite well for peace of mind as a security solution. They were still cheaper than buying inurance for a year on those bikes
