This is the seatpost as it arrived on Thursday:

Really scratched up and looking very sorry for itself. 😕

This is how it looks now:

It has come up really well, happy to use this now, the faint remaining scratches are below the min insertion mark, and the post will be set well below that anyway.

Just need to hunt down a couple of nice clamp bolts and we’ll be in business! 😎

The Hope top cap just looked wrong….

A quick trawl on eBay found this high polish alloy cap for £4.99 posted, and it’s a perfect fit! 😎

Frames landed in UK on the 12th, but due to the chaos in Felixstowe it will be next Friday (29th October) before they arrive with Andy 😕

Maybe, hopefully it will be here with me by the following Friday…. maybe…. which will be the 5th November 🤞

Only 4 months later than first planned 🙄😖

Trying to keep a silver/retro theme with this, with a wee nod to fluo yellow in the form of the Magura brakes….

Coloral bottles were used in the 40s/50s, made from aluminium and with a cork stopper, not used solely for water but also a sugar/milk blend to maintain energy levels! Originals are very hard to find and good ones now command three figure sums!

They‘ve since been recreated in stainless steel with a screw down lid, and are now insulated too.

I really like the fluted style of these so ordered one up, which arrived today…. very cool! 😎
