New (old) house has survived winter and is dry and draft free. Sitting in front of the fire after a day on the bike is very agreeable and worlds away from my life last year.
Meanwhile on the window sills my new garden is appearing:

Re:

is this the unofficial Corona virus thread then?

currently sort of isolating at the shop. i live with my parents, they are 80, i initially moved to my sisters place and she has been isolating since last tuesday as she works at southampton university and they were all told to work from home. it occurred to me that if i stay with her and i get ill because i deal with the public (who simply don't seem to have grasped this yet) then i will infect her if i stay at hers, so now the plan is that she isolates, my parents isolate, and i stay at the shop, only nipping back at carefully timed periods for a shower, if i do get ill then she can head to y parents to isolate with them having not got ill and i can then use her place to recover.

what a mess.

one bonus however is that last night while watching tv in the shop no one was talking through every ***ing program!!

Nice choice of beer there !

it was a tip from a customer about a month ago. i had left the box on the counter yesterday as a reminder and was regularly telling customers to hurry up and go and keep their distance etc.

it's amazing how many people just want to stop and chat, so i cut them off, sorry mate you need to get gone as neither of us know if we have the virus and we supposed to be not interacting, most then realise they are being stupid but i think some still think it's an overreaction, seems worst in the young and old, the middle ground seem to get it

The thread was meant to be positive but the depression seems to spread everywhere, almost like a, well, virus!

Anyway, i had a great day yesterday, one of those really simple days but which will stay with me forever. I went for a walk down by the river with my daughter and the dog. She is at the age where everything is boring, apart from chatting with her friends while laying on the settee. So to go for a long walk, somewhere where we always used to go, and have fun without any moaning, from either of us was really special.

Just some pictures of a wrapped hay bale in a tree  from when we had floods a the other month. Just as strange is the fact all the fields up river are grazing land. Can only think that they came from a distant farm!?
