Good afternoon all :-)

I have just pulled this from a skip at my local recycling centre.
My brother and I were disposing of two rusty BSO hulks and this was 'parked' in the Ro-Ro.
A 2 for 1 deal was done and it's been brought to my home.

If anyone can shed any light on what year etc this is please feel free to educate ;-)

Your thoughts and comments are welcomed !

Re:

Update :

Bike has been stripped and cleaned, seat post was seized. Rear wheel and screw-on cassette are beyond repair.
Rear cassette freehub has disintigrated and cassette has made contact with rear dropout. It's caused a small amount of damage but insufficient to cause any concern.
It was probably the reason it was laid up and then disposed of.

It is way too good to scrap !

Nice save, when you say seat post was seized do you mean you've got it out?

Yep. Some nerve and cunning liberated it :-)

Truthfully, I turned it upside down and squirted lots of WD40 in through the bottle cage mount holes. It then started seeping out down the outside of the post, which I took as a good sign.
Gentle encouragement from my stilsons and it moved.

It's cleaned up rather well methinks.

Good work! You can now put that on Ebay for £300....

Oooohh synical !

I have 3 projects coming soon from this site via various sources, so I would let this go to someone who'd look after it. It's had a lucky break with me and my brother saving it, so it deserves a good home.

I'm not the 'type' to do that to be honest with you, i'm more concerned as to where it goes to than monetry gain.

Re:

Nice work! I must admit for me it's all about the save & rebuild then I get itchy feet as I try to run a one in one out. I took an offer & sold a complete rebuilt Eldridge Grade a few months with a black LX DX mix (standard) flexstem, 231's new cables & serviced for £100 just because I'd seen something else I wanted, I could have parted it for double but it'd turned out a really nice ride & I probably broke even so I let it go.
