my 20" 1991/2 HeiHei pretty much in factory spec. still (its in the for sale / swaps section at the moment as a frame or complete bike because long term I'd like the same thing or later but in a 19" frame ) but its go
My Cindercone too - also sold a couple of year ago - the new owner was quite emotional when I handed it over as he had one back in the day and this one was still like a new bike in the flesh
My King Hahuna with Manitou Skareb fork and XTR groupo, hope hubs, King headset - great bike and not sure why I parted with it really as it as 19" which is my size - but I hankered after a simpler, early bike - which I later got in the 20" above.
My old Kona Joe after powdercoating the ape-hangers black and completing a single-lever conversion to make it as simple as possible. Not with me anymore but rode better than its looks it would.
I am quite a lucky person to still own my very first mountain bike, little did I know when I bought it back in 1993 that it would eventually become a retro bike. I don’t know why I kept it and never traded it in but I have had others and usually sell them on. Perhaps it was the history and places it has taken me or perhaps it was just that I liked to ride it, or perhaps all of these.
After a discussion with my wife about doing a long cycle ride, her on an old Claud Butler tourer and me on my Kona a plan started to develop.
