Hold on, I just thought - if Scotland go independent they won't immediately join the EU, so does that mean we can get cheap fags and booze at a duty free shop on the border???

Don't forget the cheap drugs etc as it will have the longest unpoliced coast line in Europe!

More importantly VAT free expensive bicycle parts - just don't tell the tax man on returning  I'm a yes voter :D

Re:

But the last postal prices and PayPal fees will go up as they're cross border.

Lucky the Royal Mail is privatised now, I guess, so they get to keep the system.
Though they can charge even more to get to rural places as it'll not be protected by the OFstuff people.

Also we'll not need to bother with the HS2 extensions up to you.

All these things we can save on.

Anybody near Galashiels? Need a frame picking up.

Don't forget to pay Duty and Vat on that

Cracker! It is nice to see a bit of humour in this thread.

I just agreed with a whole heap of NO campaigners that come Friday we will all be partying together, whatever happens. At the end of the day we are all in the same boat, whether it is sailing north or south!

Unhappily I can report that some of my friends who are NO supporters have been harassed over it.

Not cricket. More like shinty, so fair enough I suppose.

Re: Scottish Indepence YES or NO?

I heard from a reliable source that the No mob in their letters out to the elderly and housebound(disabled etc)
That if they wish to vote NO then to write NO in the NO box
This doesnt mean No to No but is classed as an undecided.
Watch out for the story breaking on the 'Great spoiled ballot fiasco' on or around the 19th.

Source - Someone who would know about such dastardly goings on but is powerless to act upon them except to tell a friend with express orders not to say anything to anyone and not to blog it out.....oops

I wouldn't doubt it, they will stop at nothing to force their will!

The BBC ought to be ashamed of Nick Robinson.

I always felt he was doing a great job until this.

Re:

No one interested in the massive political shift in politics for England with the Labour party loosing the Scottish vote (a majority for them)
It's very exciting it could mean financial stability for decades.

Re: Scottish Indepence YES or NO?

Interestingly, our house in London gained a huge amount of value under Labour. Don't remember anyone complaining about that.
