Schumacher returns...this should be fun!

The cars were various F3 chassis that were mocked up to resemble the F1 cars

Garner car was a formula junior dad used to look after the actual car with his signature on the dash ... Will see if I can find some pics of it

And what do we think of BMW throwing in the towel at the end of the season??

I think sad. Every time one team leaves is never good. Should have shown more patience. It takes time to build a winning team.

but what is the point for a manufacturer like BMW? The technology is becoming further from the road cars and with no Grand Prix in North America and the German and British Grand Prix's looking uncertain (BMW's three biggest markets) it becomes hard to justify involvement to the share holders.

They will be much better off in sportscar racing, they can showcase their Diesel engine technology in front of their target markets in a highly competetive series with stable technical regulations.

This might be worth an email to my former boss to see what he thinks (both of us being ex members of Mclaren, him at the top, me just above cleaner status)

[name drop]one of my school mates is now chief aerodynamicist at McLaren (Simon Lacey)[/name drop] :D

Good info there Dr. ...thanks for sharing. :D

daj, thanks for the link. just lovely that one. 8)

...yeah my dad was mates in high school with Garner and a little known actor named Richard Jaeckel. when I was very young we would have dinners and go golfing with them. didn't appreciate it at the time, i just knew they were cool because they would buy me candy and bring me gifts... Jim wasn't a "great" driver, but he got out there and mixed it up.

...this one's pretty badazz.

nice being back around here. very comfortable. cheers.

Nelson Piquet Jr has been given the boot at Renault. The team is also suspended from the European GP subject to appeal just two days before the race- they will have to travel to Spain and sit and await the decision to wether they get to race or not.

Happy days for Flava Flav

Its a good job the politics in F1 make up for the pretty boring races isn't it?

From BBC News:

Ferrari have hit back at the teams who blocked Michael Schumacher from testing this season's car before his F1 return.

He is set to replace the injured Felipe Massa, but Formula 1 rules prevent on-circuit testing during the season.

In an apparent swipe at Williams, who opposed the move, a Ferrari statement read: "Guess who opposed the test?

"A team that hasn't won anything for years and yet didn't pass over the opportunity to demonstrate once more a lack of spirit of fair play."

Whoever released that to the press should be given a good talking to. What a pathetic statement. Alguersuari managed without a test, surely a seven times world champion can. All the sympathy lay with Ferrari after Massa got injured, but name calling and carrying on like a pork chop when they didn't get their way just rid them of any sympathy from me, at least.
