Cheers Coomber, the pink tufftrax looks like the same frame.

I saw the two limited editions (mine's 'special' dontchaknow ;-) ) but they seem to have lower spec and a different frame (pierced seat/top tube).

From the condition of the bike I'd say there's been a good foot of post in that tube for the best part of 20 years without moving and I've learned learned from experience to be strict about the number of projects. I've pretty well decided to leave post removal to someone else.

Frame and forks are yours for postage and I'll throw in the headset, stem, bottom bracket and saddle so you've got something for the postage if it won't come out without wrecking the frame.

I want the wheels and crankset, maybe a few other bits, the rest will go up for sale and if you do take the frame you've got dibs on anything you want.

I think this is the only 91 'special' to have made it to the internet era.

Looks like Brighton is the go to place for Saracen lol ! picked up the Sahara elite from just up the road from you maybe you could let me know what you decide to do with the brakes and mechs , could use them on mine

Looks like it was a cool bike in its day , has the 91 decals,

I would guess the "special edition" is 1 up on the "limited edtion" as it has black DX kit

I would persevere with the post and see if I will come out.

Better kit but a worse frame than the 'limited' I think. Still a nice frame amd forks though - tange db cromo and 'unique' colourway. If Coomber wants it that's fine with me - I've got other bikes to fix and not enough time!

Paul I saw that Sahara and was tempted - it's usually down to how convenient it would be to collect as I have no car and little time. Dibs to you on the mechs and brakes and I haven't forgotten the favour with that bolt - I'll pm you once they're off the bike.

Rodrigues I am a bit of a mercenary whore when it comes to bikes (almost everything has a price and getting a good price for something just creates the possibility of the next retro purchase) so I'll give it some thought. I don't 'need' the wheels, I just put a knackered old black rear wheel on my Seeker while waiting to service the original one and black looked good. Also a decent set of wheels is always good to have around. If you're willing to pay top end of what they're worth then maybe make me an offer?
