To cut a long story short I admired this frame quite some time ago when Kaiser put photos up of how he had built it. I think he may actually have offered to sell it to me at some point but I was convinced it would be too big as I didn't know the size and I'm a bit of a shortarse. It then cropped up for sale last week with measurements and lo and behold it would fit me after all. So I collected it last Saturday and bought a few bits to put on it to supplement what I had already. It is now 95% ready, just waiting on a new stem to shorten the reach a little bit and some very nice Middleburns in black.
It's the most modern bike I've ever built.
2007 Salsa Ala Carte
Manitou R7 80mm forks
XTM771 shifters and mechs
Avid Juicy 3 brakes (not the greatest but they stop my 11st just fine)
Mavic 221 rims with Deore hubs
NC-17 post and bars
Selle Italia Flite Gel
Chris King headset with matching green Salsa fliplock
Ritchey ZMax Evolution Comp tyres
XTM750 cranks (temporary will be Middleburn RS7 in black)
Race Face stem (temporary waiting on a Thomson)
Time Atac pedals
SRAM PG950 cassette with PC991 Cross Step chain
Just back from a it's first run, a gentle 6 miles on cyclepaths and it feels great.
