Rolf Harris found guilty

Ideally, but with high profile cases I can't see anonymity being possible.

There is no real 'clearing of name' in a court. There is no finding of 'Innocent', that is what I would like to see changed in some way.

Proven innocent or innocent until proven otherwise amounts to exactly the same thing. And casting aspersions for the rest of his (or anyone's) life because of claims so weak a court wouldn't look at them isn't the way to go imo.

FWIW I read (one of?) the accusers was basically a boot who thought there was some glamour in shagging the Union reps. Granted this is Oxford but ffs, I've heard it all now.

Funny what you choose to believe.
All I believe re that case is it's wrong for the accused to be named and therefore tainted for life regardless of the truth or trial outcome, whilst the accuser(s) who in this case couldn't provide credible enough evidence for a trial have their identities protected. Justice?

Yes and I agree about anonymity- but you are happy to repeat that one of the accusers is a 'boot who thought there was some glamour in shagging union reps' which is just a load of unsubstantiated bollocks!

Yes... but isn't the reason why the accusations were dismissed, because of accounts one of the accusers made on the internet somewhere?

Is it truly unsubstantiated, or is there something of a smoking gun?

Much like the accusation of rape then. Although his name is in the papers and hers is not.

I'll choose my words carefully here:

As a victim of the 'r' word - I still cant come to terms with that word - from a close member of my family I had to go through court to put away that person. I was damn damn lucky that my police statement and the statements of others helped put the guy away for a good number of years but not enough.

The recent news of Saville, Rolf et al has dragged up stuff that victims like me just didn't want to hear. Sure, I joke along with the rest but I'm fairly robust. I really am beginning to feel for others who are not and have gone through similar experiences.

I am thankful that I can look on it all quite coldly and see what these people really are and the pain they have caused and got away with.

I'll probably regret this later when the beer kicks in.
