Rigid rides best !

kev, are you saying you liked it so you sold it?

Yes, I loved it. My Yeti FRO, Klein Attitude, Proflex and Trek sat redundant in the garage for a full 12 weeks during which time I put about 500 offroad miles on the Roberts. Not good for an old lady - as I said I was riding it too much and the only way to stop myself trashing it was selling it. Sounds extreme I know :?

Its like an american soap opera.' I love her too much, but I ain't no good for her goddamn. She's better with you Clay'

Actually have just swapped the Rockhopper to a rigid fork - much prefer it - hate swidge!

Depends where you're riding.

I love my rigid Blizzard single speed for ripping on hard-pack paths but it just doesn't cut it on the root and rock infested trails where I live.

Just sold my Hei Hei frame for the same reason, beautiful bike, but I need bounce on both ends to fully enjoy a trip into the woods. Otherwise it's just tedious, don't get me wrong, I would class myself as a (wannabe  ) finesse rider but there's no right lines, just boulders, roots and elk shit.

I have to agree - just built up a singlespeed from an old (non-retro) Cindercone with P2s on the front. It takes me back 10 years or so and I'm having a whale of a time.

I'm still struggling with this, :?

And because I'm much the same in a way, too many cars and bikes and perhaps none I really want or want to ride.

If teh Roberts was so perfect for you, why not keep it and use it and sell some of the others, and I wonder, could you get a bike much the same now to do teh same job, like a modern equivalent, or custom Roberts thats tougher or something. I'm just confused! :D

Like Pickle, my first rigid ride in well over a decade was on My raliegh in the Peaks, really woke me up to mountain biking and my roots. 8) needed that re grounding, but fugg me, rigids and cantis are tiring when ya worn out!

Still loving simple bikes the old skool MTBer in me never went, still not looking forward to building my Santa Cruz full susser, but will try it...
