RetroRoadRide Series Rd 1: Cheddar Gorge ~ 08/03/14

if I have a ride, and I've been told I can borrow it, but only if it looks useable when he gets back from a business trip late tomorrow night, it won't be shiney. Adam, did you have a look in your old mans shed? Is there a Dale hiding there, with girlie gears, that I could borrow?

Yep mudguards are off, bring something to sit on in the cafe just incase of wet pants.

@PT

It's got man gears 42 smallest ring and 24 back.

don't think I'm man enough. You average 191 miles a week, and you're fitting girlie gears for you, me 80 miles on a bike where the big ring is 42 teeth

I'm leaving for Cheddar @ 5am tomorrow, just saying.

Pyro Tim, I reckon you should go with the ride you have organised. If we need to we can get the spanners out. Karls got a service course velo van I'm sure they're tooled up. :lol:

Don't worry about me getting there, I can't wait. My steed and I have to do 40 miles across the Cotswolds before we get to you though so I'll probably be on par with Daj by then....

Are you cycling to Priddy?

Looks like it only has man gears. Can anyone bring some spares/girlie gears just in case? I can only confirm late tomorrow night, and will have an early start on Saturday to get there in time.

That's a nice looking bike. How many on the rear, 5 ? and they look like tubular tyres. Wonder if anyone has a set of clinchers with a large six speed block. If it's 120mm spacing, which I think it may be 126mm might fit in it.

You can always push it as there's only a couple of steep bits and they are shortish.

All I know is that it looks like the pictures ;) By the looks of it, the tyres are shot, and the cables look ropey, but the rest looks pretty good. Just hope the BB and headset are ok
