RetroRoadRide Series Rd 1: Cheddar Gorge ~ 08/03/14

Can't see many having some softer options for that bike. All my wheels have 9 speed blocks and I cannot see them fitting. I guess the best answer would be a 39T for the chainring, assuming BCD matching but I don't have any options there I'm afraid.

The only option I can see it to offer up the Nag and fire up the yogurt pot but currently it has no brake pads, no saddle , not moved in 4 months with chain/cassette needing changing from end of last year? :?

thinking about it, I think I'm going to have to bottle it. I don't think I can do that route on the Raleigh. I'm not man enough.

If anyone has anything more suitable, I can bring my own saddle and pedals, can buy brake blocks / bits and pieces tomorrow etc. Whatever I buy will be donated

Don't worry about me getting there, I can't wait. My steed and I have to do 40 miles across the Cotswolds before we get to you though so I'll probably be on par with Daj by then....
Are you cycling to Priddy?

Nah, just Warwick to Cheltenham. I did that route last week and in places it was like riding through a canal.

Sorry, Daj that wasn't intended to sound snidey. Your reference to your bike looking like it was rescued from a canal just reminded me of how my bike ended up looking last week and how it may well end up tomorrow.

Not taken snidey I thought you meant you were coming near stow on the wold!! :D

If I am being honest I have the car in garage tomorrow night so won't be home late and thought of starting to fanny around getting another bike together isn't that appetising .... Not even sure if the battery has any charge!!

Broadway will be about as close as I get to Stow.....
Could have a crack at Fish Hill if I went towards Stow though.....
Hmmmmmmmm...........

If your 110% serious about coming and I don't hit any snags tomorrow night sorting the cervelo out , I will use my modern and you can use my Master ...it's taken a winters battering ...got a dodgy rear calliper and skips now again but keeps going and never actually let me down. It's 57cm seat tube and 56"top with short stem to suit me .

If for any reason you can't make it please let me know to save me sorting the other bike out 8)

Is facetrack what cars use for social media then?

Thanks to the legendary Dave, I will be there on Saturday :D I'll bring my mtb pedals, and my Flite saddle, so I'm comfortable, and have shoes that fit me and work :) Will take the short route home tomorrow night too, as averaging 15.7mph tonight over 15.1 miles and 1000ft has made my legs ache. Especially when I can get home in a smidge over 5 miles. Oh, Dave, I assume it's a 700C inner tube? Want to bring a spare, just in case of a flat.

Excited now. My 1st road ride
