Neil,
You know I think you're a waste of my time, and I've said in the past I won't reply to you again. Against my better judgement, I'll make an exception.

Then if you're so sure, and it bothers your sense of play so much, then you should contact the mods about it.
In general, in life, I try to work things out with my peers without involving higher authority when I can avoid it. That means that when I was a kid, I didn't go to my parents if I had a disagreement with my brother, and I didn't involve the teacher if I had a disagreement with a classmate. I don't go to the police if I have a dispute with my neighbour -
unless I have absolutely no other choice.
All this palaver about the BOTM votes - well if people care so much about it, and the results - then do something about your suspicions that are obviously concerning you, rather than snide, subtle digs that just serve to show some degree of bitterness.
BotM isn't a very important part of Retrobike for me. When I've entered it's been without any hope of winning, and I've picked up a handful of votes here and there. On the other hand, I know that it's important to many people who enter, and I'd rather see a fair competition. So what I
do is make my suspicions public so that my peers and yours can judge for themselves whether or not they have any foundation. If the community judges that there are grounds for suspicion, the community can act accordingly. I assume that's also Rob's goal in creating this thread. Open discussion is the first step.
I'm not subtle - to be subtle would be completely counterproductive. I'm not snide, and I'm certainly not bitter. I'm just pointing out that I think BotM has been far too open to manipulation and gamesmanship to assume it's not happening. The alterations John brought in last month
as a result of public discussion about the problem may prove to be a useful step towards fixing that.
