My right shifter has very weak springs since an accident, and it tends to drop down gears, no matter how low tension I set on the RD with the B-screw. So, I've decided to gt some parts..

http://www.rob4bike.com/product_info.ph ... 2a8e53e9eb 740 HUF, current exchange rate is 398 HUF=1GBP

2 of these, 1420 HUF, which seems cheapo.

Will these be enough or shall I get a washer between them also? Because in kit, it costs a lot.. :(

in this kit, the washer is included as well.

Excuse for not setting the page to english, but you see the pictures and part numberz :)

The ergos are vintage 8spd 1996 record titanium ones, and only the right one needs new springs.. :)

Cheers.

This is interesting actually as I went through the same issue with my old Chorus 9sp units. The downshift on the right lever was jumping three or more clicks at a time. Research told me that this could be two issues...1 the ratchet has just worn out and 2. The tall piece on the black ring that retains the two ratchet springs (it's in one of your above pics) had shattered. The issue was number 2. So, it's worth checking what the problem is before spending silly money on these tiny parts. Also, I don't understand why you'd need the washer if it isn't there already? Oh, one more thing & you've probably done this already but I used the expanded diagrams to find the exact part needed for each model These can be found in the catalogue/brochure section of this site. As you know, Record, Chorus, Athena etc use some different parts now.

My Campag' 9 speed lever was doing the same and it was indeed was the black ring with the tall bit, mine had snapped off.

Wasn't going to strip it myself as I had no idea what to do so I got mine fixed at Mercian cycles.
