race face isis bb fitting

not really retro but i do need help. recent snapped my turbines so upgraded to my dream crank(next lp)
it came with a race face ISIS bb.
My question is how do i fit this BB? It says it fits 68 and 73 shells?(mine is 73). neither of the cups seem to be removable to allow you to fit the bb into the shell then tighten in the conventional way?
help please. thanks

One of those cups (non drive usually)or both will come off - they're just stiff.

If it's going in a 68mm shell you need a 3mm spacer on the drive side (I think), you can get these from your LBS or fins a friend who has a new shimano external BB and didn't need all their spacers.

What's the model? Something like XS?

what he said, although generally when you buy the bb new and it says 68/73 a spacer is normally provided. wouldnt it be a 5mm spacer? im unsure but i think you might get away with a headset spacer? :?: worth a try

Non-drive will come off. I've got an RF BB in the garage to fit.

No. It's a 2.5mm one.

both of the cups will come off with some gently persuasion.

i have a raceface BB had to replace the bearings in it not so long ago.
required 3 sets of bearings 2 for the drive side & 1 for non drive.

cups came off quite easy same cant be said for the bearings :x

I run a Race Face Signature ISIS BB.

The nondrive side cup does come off.

Then if you check the installation sheet, it says for a 68mm shell you wind the cups in to be about 1mm inside the shell. For a 73mm shell, the cups sit 1mm outside the shell. No spacers needed unless you're using a chainguide.

No. It's a 2.5mm one.

wouldnt that then only make it 70.5mm, what am i missing here!!!?

Any pictures of the snapped Turbines? Always good to document the failures of parts that do not fail as often as some. Post them up if you have them.
