Questions about Marzocchi Z1 Cartridges 1997 / 1998

Guys, I know it's been a million years, but can you change the travel from a Z1 BAM? Say, from 130mm to 110mm? What would it take? This fork appears to be from 1999-2000 (came with a '99 bike). Please? 🙏

Haha, thanks So much for your reply! (Danke schön).
I haven't been able to find a Z1 Alloy (which would be the 100mm), and I thought the conversion could be cheaper. Furthermore, I actually got two Z1's - the red one is CR, i.e., it's also 130mm. I think they're both awesome, but I'm building something that is closer to a "commuter bike" and I don't want the long travel. Alternatively, I can exchange them for a similar quality fork with 100mm. Here's a picture of both forks from this week. They're both in great condition and rebound as they should. Thanks again for your advice. 🙏

Yes they're designed so you can change the travel from 130mm to 100mm. You need to change all 4 springs, two each leg. Shorter main spring and longer top out springs.

An update:

Thanks again, guys, I am selling the two forks (it's pending now), and I want to leave this testimony here:

1) I ended up agreeing with Dr-Zocchi -- why all the hassle. These forks were built like this, maybe I'm looking for a Different fork. I love them both, so I prefer to give them a good home and use the money to get something else.

2) I'm a commute biker, that's why I have no use for 130mm travel. Most important, Marzocchi did build a lighter fork, which is top of my list: the Z2 Super Fly and X-Fly.

I regret that I won't be buying those 100mm springs from Dr-Zocchi, but I want to say that I was Floored, so impressed with your knowledge and inventory altogether, hope everyone takes note.

Finally, another related question: Can a Z2 Super Fly or X-Fly with 80mm travel be converted to 100mm travel?

Best regards,
Ivan
