Prepping MacBook for sale

I've no idea what I'm supposed to do. Info on web is predictably various and not helpful.
Basically I'm in disc utility, I've got what looks like a partition with a recovery drive (called 'OS X Base system').

Is this ok to then install OS X then leave at the welcome screen?

I've erased the 'Macintosh HD' drive but it all seemed a bit quick?

I just want very easy, clear steps to follow, but I can't seem to find any...

Do you have the installer running? What version are you installing? What is the hardware?

I've done a few Mac installs but am not sure of the steps of the top of my head - can you do photos of the screen or better describe the options available? I don't mind helping with more info...
