Pre RetroBike sins of the flesh.

I sold a lovely Ibis Ancotech ti bar, back when I was convinced I'd never need another flat bar again. Today, I have 9 flat bars, and that Ibis would cost me hundreds to get back.

I traded my first Rascal for a new Manitou 4, back in 1994, but still... Stoopid move.

I had a great NOS derailleur collection that included Mavic, Sante, Superbe Pro, XC Pro, New Success and Record OR, all in boxes, and I sold them all. I don't think That was wise now, at any price!

For 2 years my white EWR was owned by a friend. I never felt right without that bike in the house. Home now, so all is well. :D

I stopped dreaming of summer days on empty trails.
I no longer saw the beauty in ball burnished or anodised alloy.
I no longer saw the appeal in spending a whole day in the saddle and having rewardingly achey legs the next day.
I forgot the simple joys of pedalling down a singletrack trail through the trees.

Me too, for ten years.

Add to this:

Sold my original 90 Clockwork because I'd bought a modern bike (the shame of this one led me to RB)
Sold my 89 Tufftrax to my brother in law. He chucked it in a skip.
Gave away an original pair of SPD's 'cos I thought I'd never need them.
Bought a modern GT XCR4000 that was so pants I never rode it.

Forgive me....

Can hardly bear to say......replaced rigid forks on my Klein Pinnacle with Mag 21s, rigid forks then given to next doors son, after he bent the forks on his BSO crashing up kerbs...........
