Forgive me RB, for I have sinned many many times. Prior to the discovery of RB:

I sold my Pace RC30s

I sold my original Orange Clockwork

I broke up and sold an '88 Stumpjumper

I broke up and sold my M739 equipped Orange P7

I bought an On-One

Forgive me...

What's this the RB confessional?

Say five hail Chris Chance's and flail yourself with a M900 rear mech and all will be forgiven. Oh, and if you really want to ensure your forgiveness send me some cash.

I sold a heavily pimped early 90's Stumpjumper. More ano than you could shake a stick at.

But, it was to fund a roadbike as I was more into road racing at the time.

Does this equal forgiveness?

I lived in Northern California for 6 years and never once ventured near Mount Tam on a mountain bike. Oh the shame has been almost too much to bear

I gave away my Timberline and stopped cycling for ten years.
I put on circa 4 stone in weight.
I stopped dreaming of summer days on empty trails.
I no longer saw the beauty in ball burnished or anodised alloy.
I no longer saw the appeal in spending a whole day in the saddle and having rewardingly achey legs the next day.
I forgot the simple joys of pedalling down a singletrack trail through the trees.

I ate cheesestrings.

that's really bad

I bought a near-NOS 1991 Shogun Prairie Breaker with full XT and rode it into the ground inside six months.

I bought a 531c Raleigh Road Ace, fitted racks front and rear and snapped the head tube off touring in northern France.

I put a 1970s Campag Pista group, '80s Cinelli bar and stem, and '90s SPD pedals on a 1956 Mercian.

A few years ago I saw a mint early Fisher abandoned on the traditional Sunday night Le Mans rubbish pile. I'm sad to say I looked at it and then walked away. The pikeys soon had it away.

I know... It's a feeble excuse but I just didn't know my history. Seriously considering OWMTB 2011 next year and making amends.
