poncing around in Lycra

Re:

As an old git (and I mean oap old )I still wear lycra. To be honest I really dont give a bugger what anyone else thinks about it.I left the mamil stage years ago so fashion is something that worries other people not me.If I was commuting I would probably use it to get to work but as I am retired it is the choice wear for all my normal riding. Its light. Its stretchy. It dries very quickly after a downpour. Whats not to like about it?Just stop worrying about what other people think and get on with it.As far as the chap in tweeds and a penny farthing goes thank god there are still people who are willing to do there own thing and brighten up the world a bit. Im all for it.

Other cycling wear IS available besides lycra.. which I believe was a part of the original point questioning its necessity.
TBH if a commute is long enough to justify "modern carbon" there really isn't any alternative.

Unless you want to look like a rambler on a bike. Or a sweaty grunt at work.

Re:

What a complete set if twats cyclists are
Traditionally we have road v mtb

Within mtb we have xc v downhill and rigid v suspension

On the road side we have
Racing v touring
Road race v time trial

Last week we had retro v carbon
Today's theme is Lycra v no Lycra

Everyone thinks anything they themselves don't do means the other person is a c###

No wonder we have no serious representation when the motoring public wants us off their roads if we can't even get along ourselves

We should all be brothers on bikes
Its pathetic chaps. Some of the posters on this thread should hang their heads in shame and find another hobby!
