Picking up Trek 950 and cycling from Newport to Bristol

Well I say it's on the coast, you can't actually see the coast tbf, but it's a nice section of straight flat gravel on route 4:

Most of the welsh Sustrans outside of the cities are beautiful and rather easy to navigate so definately worth returning 👍
Yup I know the spot! I remember when looking at the Sustrans map and seeing like 80% was on roads shared with cars I was a bit disappointed. After seeing those roads, and the complete lack of cars, I'm very keen to try some of the other sustrans routes.

Also handy you had that picture hah. The whole route was stunning and such a far cry from my usual city cycling. Makes me realise what I've been missing

Its a bizarre experience cycling over the severn bridge. did you use the transporter bridge in newport, that's really cool, did it a few years back on our "escape from wales" ride from Port Talbort to Bath

Yeh I did the Restrap Solstice Challenge a month or so ago and rode to Gloucester and back from Newport so took a few piccies along the way 😉
