This might be controversial but I decided to replace my XTR V brakes on my Hei Hei with some Pauls Motolites after seeing them for sale on here. CNC machined things of beauty, super powerful, so the marketing bumpf says....
Anyway, off come the XTR's and on they go. Well, I've been trying to set them up since 1530 today, and have come to the conclusion they are pretty but god awful to set up. I think I have got so used to the ease of set up with shimano - they really are bolt on and play but these things are a nightmare. The pads and mounts can move in any direction, so you are trying to set up the pads and then try and get the mounts square. And that stupid method of balancing the spring tension with a combination of allen key and 15mm spanner is stupid. I think I might of got the rear one almost there, but the spacing on the fronts with my Pace RC36 Evo's is not right, I'm stumped. Is it too much to ask to have something special but not a bugger to set up? They do look pretty though.........
