OO-ER modern content
but a valid point.
I've just bought a Orange pure 7 frame and bits and wondered the real differences between it and a P7 and if those were a help or a hindrance,in that the steel used in the P7 is of better quality, thinner,lighter etc but does than mean its more fragile and perhaps not as robust against damage from knocks,bumps and falls?.
Both the p7 and clockwork were meant to be real workhorses able to shift from race bike to commuter to tourer.I just wonder if the tubing will last.
Only having had a clockwork i lusted over the P7,id have preferred to own it but the frame was 100 quid more than i had so that was that.[And i was very happy with my 'clocky'
]
Sold it years ago but ive been toying with buying another clockwork or P7 for a runabout for the shopping etc and happened upon the pure7 for a very good price and snapped it up.
On comparing it on the Orange website to the 'proper' P7 the differences are only the tubing,that being Double-Butted Cro Mo Steel on the Pure and Reynolds 631 Double-Butted Cro Mo Steel on the P7.
So is the Pure7 closer to the original P7 and the current P7 could be viewed as possibly,perhaps just another generic modern design,albeit high end :?
Pure and P7 here- http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/pure-7/
Hope i haven't offended anyone
Adjustable/Sliding dropout :shock: To each his own :?
