Orange R8

Recently picked up an R8 frame, always wanted an Orange but never had one! I’ve sold my Giant Anthem X frame for a few days labour so transferring the mostly xt parts across and renewing some tired bits along the way..
Just need to work out how to upload photos since my photof*cket account has gone the shape of a pear..

Haha, that’s exactly what I thought but I’ve read quite a few articles and apparently it should work, although it may need a little 6mm shim on the mech cable attach point.. I’ve not had a chance to set the gears or ride it yet but i am hopeful as I want the clutch bit but can’t afford or be arsed to get 10sp cassette and chain!

It is surprising how many combinations that shouldn't work do. On one of my road bikes I use 10 speed Campag shifters to shift 8 speed Shimano, and on the other 10 speed Campag shifters to shift 10 speed Sram. Neither should work. I like an anarchic mix of parts! Hope this works.

Thanks Paul, if you click on the photo it should come up larger. I’ve got a short duration trial on imageshack and I can’t find any full size setting, perhaps due to the trial? I used to use photobucket but they started charging so I binned it.. if you know of a free site please let me know!
