Come on lads.... it cant be that bad can it????
The people who will buy the new On-One FAT CHANCE will probably never of heard or know anything about the original FAT CHANCE, so is it really that much of an issue?
We should all be honoured that On-One want to name there bike after the old one

IMO it's probably the reaction they wanted from us old gits on here lol

You are right though,Imagine a lot off buyers won't even know about the Fat Chance anyway

Yes.

They could have called it an Apex, a Courier, a Tufftrax etc. but didn't. Why? It's a very cynical move and not done without forethought so, again, yes, it is an issue.

Please say that you aren't being serious.

I am being serious yes, honestly why does it matter, its only a name, i agree they probably have done it with alot of forethought, but i rekon it will be an improvment on the old one as in riding geometry, so if someone can make an improvment on something thats old then thats good.
I know im going to get you old gits  blasting me for this comment but im not that old and cant see a problem with it, i think if alot of modern day bike buyers rode an old Fat Chance they would probably say.... God o mighty why the hell have On-One named there new bike after this awefull thing, thats not neccesserly my opinion but im sure it would be alot of peoples

you're either clueless, on the wrong site or a troll. Probably all three.

Its my opinion John whats wrong with that!? you have yours i have mine,
It not all one way on here over this matter. quit a few people can not see a problem with it

Could you tell us though why you think On one should make a Fat Chancer? What part of their business model has any relation to Fat Chance? Also why do you think the Fat Chancer will be better? I should point out I have nothing against on one, they are good at what they do but I don't think this is it.

Improve the riding Geometry ? ... geometry has only changed to accommodate the long suspension forks and as such if you go rigid the overly long rigid forks needed to keep the geometry the same geometry.
If they truly made a retro bike, dropped the forks to a decent length 390 to 410 or whatever it should be and made the thing at least look like a Fat Change I doubt people would be complaining as much.
But it has no fat chance heritage, doesn't look like one, decent tubing but still the may as well call it Inbred or whatever 853.. oh they used to make one didn't they said it was too expensive and not worth the extra... so why bring it out again but under a different name.

Anyways, I'm not a fanboy of either. Just how I see it..

Anyways, it's modern shite so why are we talking about it

They'll be making pink carbon bikes next...

We are talking about it because thats what the topic is about
Im not really a fan of either, i would buy neither of them, i have no idea why they have used the name other than quit a few companies are trying to turn retro with the looks and paint schemes on bikes and i rekon On-One are trying it a diffrent way.... modern frame with an iconic name, but as i said before i dont know why as 99.9% of people that will buy 1 will not even have a clue that the name is from an old retro bike classic
