Infact iv got a perfect example of using names to get sales!!!!! going completely of topic but a great example.
I used to run an Outdoors camping and outdoor retail shop, we started to use google to advertise, and sponsered links which im sure everyone knows about, we used to get 100 hits a week so i took the decision to use GO OUTDOORS which im sure everyone knows, as a sponsered link, so if anyone entreded GO OUTDOORS into google our website was the 1st one to come up, our hits went from 100 a week to 40,000 a week ans our sales went through the roof, all just because we used another name in google search, When customers clicked on the link it went to our website not go outdoors, we were not trying to con people or make out we were go outdoors, which in a way is the same as what On-One our doing, when people see the new On-One Fat Chance they will know its not a Yo eddy one, I did not care if people thought we were cheating,,,,,, we got the sales, and thats no diffrent to what On-One are doing

So lets just say The Yo Eddy Fat Cance was remade by the same people in the same way to the same speck.......... BUT went modern what would people think to that? Would anyone complain he had gone all modern?
I reckon 95% off people would by the On-One version over an identical new old version????? of Yo eddy. Not that im an On-One fan cos im not
That is what calaiswoodburner was meanig in the previos post i think, Pace going all modern, the thing is people want new modern bikes now with all the latest technology not old bikes that dont really ride that well, but yep i know what you are thinking we are on retrobikes... true but dont slate companies for developing new frames in a modern way

I'm sure if the original people made a 'modern' Fat to the same standards as the old ones people on here would have less of an issue. The point being that On-One are not the original people and will not build it to the same standard as the early Fats. It's a bit like the early Kleins compared to the Trek ones (but at least Trek actually bought the company!).

On-One have their own position in the market with their own fans so why ponce off someone else?

So are you telling me every On-One will snap in half within a year?
On-ONe are not building a Yo eddy fat chance, they are building a On-One fat chance, 2 diffrent bikes.
Never had a On-One and never would but they will be just as well made and probably even better as they now have to meet safety standards,

The On-One version will not be built to the same standard Graham. They may be stronger but that will be down to the steel used. The Fats were expensive bitd for a reason. Are you saying an On-One is as good as a high end or more expensive modern bike? If this is the case why did you get your Ragley as On-One do a cheaper frame with exactly the same frame dimensions??? I was told this by a couple of friends, one that has an On-One, one that has a Ragley.

I have no problem with cheap brands of coke on the market, but if I buy a can that says Coca-Cola on it, I expect the beverage to look, smell and most importantly taste exactly like the real deal. This On One frame looks, smells and tastes nothing like the real thing.

Where did the previous poster suggest that the frame would snap in half within a year?

On One could not make a good cup of tea never mind a frame as good as one from Fat City. You don't seem to get the sentiment of the majority of the posters on this thread Graham. Yes we know they are making a different frame but to use the name and try and compare the frame to the original high end product has understandably upset people.
It's like Proton calling it's new car Silver Ghost or Muira and telling it's customers it's just as good. To those customers that buy Proton's that's fine and dandy to to anyone with the sense to determine that a cheap Korean car will not be as good as a Rolls or Ferrari it's just insulting and looks very tacky.

Well as i said in an earlier post i never looked at On-Ones webpage with this Fat Chance on as i have been away, so i do not know what On-One have said about there frame and wether they have actually compared it to the Yo Eddy, or have they just mentioned it??
All i am going to say on this is that IF On-One do release the frame they will definatly sell a hell of alot more than the original one did, i dont really thing anyone would buy one just because it says Fat Chance on it, they will buy it cos its cheap and it says On-One on it.
Now if a can had coca cola wrote on it i would expect coca cola but the On-One is not naming it Yo Eddy Fat Chance are they

Unfortunately, that's bollocks.
