being best of mediocrity may make him feel good but how is he going to be stretched, schools have to cover all abilities. Put another way, you don't get to be an international footballer by deciding to only play in the second division where you can be the best player on the pitch.

As said before send to best school - for him based on ability, needs and interests, not always same school for different kids, where his friends go should, in my view, not make the slightest difference.

You say that but funnily enough, if I post anything on any site supposedly dedicated to whatever question iIask I got zero response, and most are getting the same, yet when I post here on off topic I get loads of advise, hence the reason i do so :roll:

Some think that even off topic, which is self explanatory, should all be about bikes, it's not it's about everything but, you can add them if you want but it still off topic, and I'm by far the only person posting about things that are not about bikes and sometimes about life.

OK fair enough but let's face it the question in this one should never really have been asked by anyone with even a gram of sense. Surely by the fact you have kids older than this one you would be able to answer this one for yourself without feeling the need to draw a little more attention to yourself?

Tis a bit of a no brainer though. Mine (twins) went to a boys and a girls single sex grammar school. 11+ etc? character building. Even had a matron!

Now both at uni. Kept some friends along the way.
