Yes, as long as you're using an 8spd cassette.

oh also, shifter is sram trx which is shimano compatible, will it work with an sram x9 mech?

im actually thinking of getting a road cassette
i have the sram one in 8 speed and its 11-32t i think and i hardly ever use at least the two biggest cogs :?
any recommendations? on a budget mind, and now nine speed dont want too much of a shock though
