Now that's what I call a gravel bike - Cotic Cascade

Nice! How do you find the ikons on road?
I'm thinking Vittoria terrenos or wtb rangers for mine
Not too bad, bit noisy though and by my reckoning... noise=draggy, but they were cheap and tubeless and anyhow it's more for offroad duties than tarmac, got another gravel bike or even road bike for tarmac stuff. I'd go with Vittoria over WTB... ran lots of WTB in the past but Vittoria have really stepped up their offroad tyre game & since I became a stockist of theirs i'm somewhat biast lol

Took the cascade on a section of the Pennine bridleway, the knarly bit North of Burnley.
Performed great, but I'm looking forward to getting some less draggy tyres on.

I found some Vittoria terrenos on sale 1/2 price at bikeinn so those will do nicely if the weather ever dries up

Got this set up the way I want now and have put a few miles on it. It's really a rigid mountain bike and very capable off road, new tyres (Vittoria mescals) really make a difference on road and ib really like the Jones bar positions

A few more miles this week including a night ride over holcombe hill. Its an excellent all weather bike and that I can get muddy and leave in the garage until the next ride without worrying about suspension.

Not updated this for a while. The cascade has become my most used bike over the past year, using it for everything from singletrack rides to commuting the 40 mile trip into Manchester. Its had a few tweaks - I've got a mezcal on the back now, an ass-saver win wing and some bling supernova airstream lights which have a fantastic beam pattern for road riding and just the neatest integrated rear light.

I really like your Cotic - it's the bike i've ended up turning all my mtbs into over the years!

At the other end of the spectrum i just had a frame built for me by Chickens Frame Emporium in Brighton. I wanted a bike which i could use on and off road without too much compromise. So the CXR was created... the Chickens X Road.😀

Built around 1x shifting and mechanical disc brakes. 20240210_172816.jpg 20240210_172835.jpg 20240210_173006.jpg 20240210_173015.jpg 20240210_173038.jpg

It's the perfect bike for riding the Downs and it's quick on the road too. The redshift stem is great - gives 20mm of travel without you even noticing it's there, in a good way.

Sorry about the crap pictures.
