...so you should be looking at around a 54cm frame

Think I mentioned that on the first page...

I would suggest you go into your LBS and try sitting on a few bikes to get an idea of sizes before you purchase something unsuitable

pigman
I can't see those links, is it worth making a Bike Radar account?

You're right but you and that other guy were arguing over frame sizes and none of you were the same height as me so I was confused, but now I know for sure :p Up until now I was looking for 54 as well as 56.

What's an LBS? Local Branch Supplier?

Re:

you shouldnt need an account to view on bikeradar. If I click on those links it just opens ???

LBS = local bike shop

Here are the two bikes pigman gave you links for

As a side note the white bike has vertical dropouts and the black bike has horizontal dropouts, both are ex derailleur frames

Bike 1 is the white bike

I am selling this custom build single speed bike. Everything is in wonderful condition, nothing needs to be replaced, you can just jump on the bike and ride it.

It is a Raleigh alloy frame size 55cm, in mint condition, it has just few scratches of normal wear. It has been converted into a single speed, but it is still have the mech hanger, so if you have got a spare groupset you can make it into a road bike.

The wheels are a pair of 105 shimano hubs built on Rigida Ultimate Power rims, rear tyre is a brand new Victoria Zaffiro, front tyre almost new (it has done 50 miles), Tektro brake levers, Tektro Brake callipers with brand new brake pads (rear pads shimano dura ace), Bontrager Select ISIS cranckset, very good quality metal pedals (not poor quality plastic ones), brand new Bontrager gel cork handlebar tape, Bontrager race handlebar, bontrager seatpost and San Marco race gel saddle.

The ratio is 48x18 but I will give all the rest of the sprockets with the bike so you can choose your own ratio.
I am based in London (close to South Ealing Tube Station), viewings are welcome. I am selling it for £180 cash on collection or if you want to arrange a courier I can box it up.

Bike 2 is the black bike
I built this up with the intention of using it as a bit of fun/pub/shop bike but since finishing it I have ridden to the shop once on it. Now I want to start a new project and this has to go. I stripped, primed and painted the bike myself and it looks good (even if I do say so myself) and rides really well. It is built up of the following:

Raleigh Zenith 501 frame: Top Tube = 57cm. Seat Tube = 59cm
Deep rear wheel with Quando flip/flop rear
Mavic front rim with Campagnolo hub.
Bontranger tyres.
170mm 44t Stronglight chainset.
New KMC chain
Original Raleigh seatpost, bars, cut to bull horn with new Deda bartape & Custom stem
Bike is currently in South Croydon just opposite Purley Oaks train station.
Looking for £115.

Vertical dropouts are not good for fixed gear bikes, they don't allow enough wheel movement to get the correct tension on the chain

Horizontal dropouts are better as they allow the wheel fore and aft movement for chain tension (but will allow the wheel to move forward)

Best of all is rear facing track ends (these are not referred to as dropouts) which allow the chain to be tensioned accurately and also limit the amount the wheel can move forward (important with fixed wheel bikes)
