A five foot ten lad on a 54cm! I'm only an inch taller than him and a 60 is just about big enough for me with the seatpost up on it's max height line

I'm 170cm so another 5cm height won't equate to a 60cm frame (I don't think)

Maybe I'm all legs but either way it just goes to show, no two people are alike.

OP, best to visit the local bike shop and get then to sort you out. Not halfords, I said a bike shop.

Re:

Thanks for the replies again guys.

I know that bike's geared but it looks amazing, would be a decent commuter bike and it's a pretty decent deal (the only problem is that it's in London).

I'll chase up the guy selling up the Boardman though and let you guys know what happens. No idea how you found that bike I thought I went through all of Gumtree.

Yeah I'll check some bike shops next week, if I can't find a good bike I can at least check which frame is suited to me. I think people have different leg heights and stuff, I found a website where you give various measurements and it'll tell you the frame you need but I haven't got a tape measure.

Here is the website:

If you're going to convert a geared bike to SS or fixed you might as well get something like a 90's Raleigh, spray the frame in Halfords satin black and swap on a set of black NoLogo fixie wheels for £100 and saddle of your choice. Use the 42T inner chainring and a 3/32" rear cog to keep it poverty-spec or swap it to a budget track chainset in black - plenty out there to choose from.

This

Although you would need to fit a front brake and lever

Not sure if the fork is drilled for a brake but should be a simple job for your LBS

Didn't realize that first link was for a geared bike so I'll pass on that.

The second one is cool but it says sealed hubs, does that mean I can't ride fixed?

That Dolan bike is cool but it's a bit expensive, and there's quite a lot of decals on there :/ including postage, brakes and pedals (and pay for them to be fitted) would cost me over £400... I'll have to give this one a pass too.

Thanks for all the replies please keep them coming! :)

Re:

I'm 5ft 10 and ride a 54cm frame. Fits spot on. A 55 might be ok, but owt bigger and it'll not look right - not enough seatpin out. Back in the 80's I rode a 56, but looks were different then.
My bro is 6ft 2 and rides a 60cm frame.
