From the second I laid eyes on a spanking new 16" Pace RC200 F3 at a round of the South West Series in 1994 I wanted one, but alas funds at the time couldn't stretch to one, let alone building my dream bike/spec with anodised blue parts, RC35's, Middleburn parts, USE, Hope, XTR M900 and a Disk Drive. A couple of years later I ended up moving across from racing XC to DH and my focus was then on DH bikes and the Pace fell by the wayside...roll on 24 years to 2018 and I managed to source a near mint 16" Pace RC200 F3...

So with the frame sourced the quest was then to start sourcing the parts...

First off were 94 Pace RC35AB forks where I ended up sourcing three sets in order to make a serviceable set with all of the correct parts and the rare brake rocker.

I then managed to source NOS "tin" Pace decals for the forks and decided to do my own version of the Pace Stage 2 titanium bolt kit, so sourced anodised blue titanium bolts for the crown to match the build theme. After around 20 hours of restoration and polishing the forks were finished...

Next on the agenda was sourcing the build parts and as being a British bike and being from the UK my dream build mainly consisted of British made parts from Middleburn, Hope, USE, Royce, etc. I also wanted a Disk Drive and some other non-British parts...

Re:

Before the build started I was really lucky to source a mega rare original Pace RC200 F3 Crud Catcher...

This version of the build was displayed at the Malverns Classic in 2018 and was also featured in the 2020 Bike Ninja retro bike calendar...

Re:

So onto the second "finished" build where I switched to NOS black wall Panaracer Smoke/Dart tyres, subtle period correct retro touches were added alongside a sprinkling of anodised blue titanium/aluminium bolts...
