Re:

Much shininess. Saddly they’ll come off as this will get raced next year. I’ll need a something higher geared and lighter.

Amazing looking thing! I am currently deep in tandem research trying to decide on what will suit me and my other half as a touring/distance machine. My inclination toward beautiful retro race machines is hard to resist and this doesn't help.

beautiful and a long way from Elgin.
Yes it is. The original owners were from down here as well. I’ve got their details and will find out why the went that far to get it.

Re:

Probably 6700 Ultegra 10spd. I picked up some Dura Ace hubs today for the wheels today. Will stay 10 it’s cheaper for wheels.
Why do you ask ?

Definitely tuning into this. There is something about the sheer grandness of tandems which would probably crap
the pants out of your average bike wrencher / Halfrauds YTS to be future mechanic.

It's odd, but I'm actually looking at 1940s tandem hub brakes for a 'normal' two wheel build.

Best of luck with this!

I didn't know it you were replacing the brakes as I have some Carbon and Ti TRP ones still
I was recently given an Avid Ultimate front so will find a rear sometime. Or maybe just an old Mafac to stop us slowing too much at the turn !!!!
