my P7 has been on michelin wild run'r 1.4 for a year now. I'm very pleased with them - good value for about 14 quid.

i bet the aero's mounted on a flexstem/pothole combo gave you the odd reduction in diameter of the rear facing tea towel holder muscle though!...?...!.....

Nah not really  It's got the hardest elastomer so it doesn't actually move that much. I'm well practiced at aerobar flexstem usage too  . I've been commuting on a Tequesta with aerobars and a flexstem for years. The Tequesta stem is 15mm longer* and it has a softer red elastomer and so one moves noticeably more. I wear a 16lb pack on my back when I commute too.

*The Ti flex stems are all 135mm long and the flex stem on my Tequesta is 150mm. However the Ahead version of the flexstem puts the hinge 15mm further out making the Ti version on my Avalanche 150mm also but with less leverage. Thats why I used the Ahead version (that and its all I had  ) I had to use one of those quill adaptor things.

They are good if you want a bike that accelerates quickly and is very manouvreable; there's nothing better for riding in traffic. But I find mountain bikes with skinny tyres are all too low geared, and the ride tends to be a bit jarring.

When I've worn out the 26 x 1.5 City Slickers on my Peugeot, I will switch to Big Apples or Twinrails. Much more comfortable.

Well, I've just stripped my Klein Pulse that was doing commuting duties..
And switched to an Orange Gringo - dumped suspension and gone with Pace RC31 - 44T chainring and 9spd rear.
Just sorting a carbon seatpost and the disc brakes - then it's all systems go!
Pics coming soon....
