Monday Night Baiku - with lovely pics (IMO!)

Monday Evening Baiku

Been wanting to ride all day….sunny and warm outside….shorts and t-shirt ride….put on new SPD shoes….RTS out of the shed and hit the trails….hardpack and dusty just the way I like it….1.8’s are flying tonight….wheelie off the footbridge and onto the footpath….RTS feels dialed just right….Dart 3’s feel smooth….nail it up the first climb….sweat beads on my forehead and bugs all over my arms and legs….into the woods and skip over the rock garden….grab a spot of air-time over the log jump….onto the farmtrack and the sun beats its heat on my back….stop for a photo or 2 by the fishing lake, I love this spot….climb over a gate for a quick ½ mile on the road…’hello’ from a roadie, too good to miss I think and race him….back on the footpath, big ring now….wind it up….back into the woods and stop for more pics….so beautiful out tonight….final sprint climb and I’m done….home for grub; peanut butter sarnie, slab of tiffin and a cup of tea….best ride of my life

I dont suppose theres much need for a spirit level around your way, just line it up on the horizon (i thought it was a little on the flat side down Oxford way!)

Its not all flat......please note the minor incline going up from the gate in the first pic!

The woods are beautiful this time of year, but sadly the sweet singletrack ends too soon
