W winjohn Senior Retro Guru Yesterday at 12:48 #23 I just found this thread, very interesting. I am currently waiting on wheels for my mod-mod CdF. Then I'm afraid it is going to get the full modern 105 hydro disc treatment, just because that's what I happen to have to hand.

Tootyred Old School Grand Master Feedback View Today at 20:09 #25 After sleeping on it....I've decided to swap from fast and dirty touch up...to.....fast and very dirty respray.! . The more i looked at it the more i realised the white was just "too white". It didn't look quite right...or retro.... So I've decided to change it to a kinda very light cream colour....bit like an on EType jag. It also solves the issue that the touch up was so extensive to be "touching up" almost the entire frame anyway! The forks pose an issue as they are carbon and white....oh well...in for a penny. So to help balance the design...ive swapped their colour to black/ carbon from white/ carbon...

Tootyred Old School Grand Master Feedback View Today at 20:17 #26 The frame paint is pretty simple now the damage has been blended in with high build primer and rubbed back. Roughy mask up the decals and sand the entire frame with 600g wet and dry. Prime the lot after wiping with home brew panel wipe. Remove the mask and rub down with 1200 grit Mask the rear to spray the chainstays black. Repair decal damage with fineline. Mask the decals closely with clear tape.....you won't notice until your right on top of it that the new white is not the same white..i hope! . Spray frame white. Leave to dry and cure in sun as by this point the black has lost its open window. Sand with 600g scotch pad and panel wipe. Single thick coat of 1k clear. Easy.....and still under a tenner! Lets see what we get!
