It's quite possibly the most tenuous justification for building a bike (if one was ever needed 😂), but having cleared out most of the shed, I'm left with a fair stash of spares for my few remaining bikes. Kinda 86 to 92 era

Having a boxes of bits, a wall of wheels and beams bedecked with bars, does beg the question of what to do with them now? (Other than them collecting dust and spiders, whilst they are not being actually used. So I've decided to build myself a trackie...just like i had in the 70s and early 80, pre mtb.

In those days it was pretty simple; pay £5 for a scratched Raleigh equipe and put cow horns on it....job done...well, till it broke or the wheels collapsed 🤣.

So, ive been searching for a frame....

700c
Big
Steel
40c +
Rigid
Will fit all the bits hanging round the shed.

Sounds easy in these days of gravel, but its really not. A year of trawling went past and unanswered wanted adverts. Some got close but wider tyre frames tend to be disc....and I've got absolutely none of that kit....no disc wheels, hubs, brakes, mounts, levers.....nothing! Also, i don't do drops ( as i recently found out) and ive no oversize bars etc

Then it came to me .......

Mod Retro Build is the way forward! I.E. rather than retro mod where you take and old frame and convert it to modern standards, you take a modern frame and convert it to the past!

So here goes......below is as good a starting point as any😂
