A sweet Goldtec rear hub has come up on ebay. This is exactly what Im after.

I assume its a road bike one - as it only has 24 holes. Chances are the axle is too short too for MTB spacing even if a rim could be found...

Question: Is it wise/ok/accepted to use a 24 hole rear for an MTB?

I imagine not. :(

I wouldnt like to ride a 24 H hub offroad, but I'm a weighty bugger.

I have goldtec hubset of that design on my RC200, if it came down to it I could possibly provide the details to get a replacement axle & spacers machined.

do you want it because it is goldtec or because its in good nick or because its ti? i only ask as i have a 32 hole rear wheel with a red (well, pink) anno goldtec hub in the middle of it, soon to be for sale

Ah cool - I might have those off you actually. Are you selling the hub or the whole wheel? Im looking for a rear with silver flange in particular but anything goes...

sadly i only have a rear wheel. not sure what the rim is but the seller told me it was a mavic and i have no reason to dispute that. its not a minter though. there should be a pic in my for sale thread - its attached to the lava dome i am attempting to sell. link in sig.
