Mismatched wheels

On my dads racing bike one wheels a black Araya and the other is a no name silver one, somehow it doesn't look to bad though.

So you could put, for example, a 216 on the front and a 238 on the back?

You could. But then if you used the same tyre at both ends it'd end up different shapes - pointy at the front, rounded at the back. Which wouldn't be ideal.

I agree with you. except for Disc wheel on the rear. I don't mind different makers rims eg Mavic on the front and Campy on the rear as long as the same ano colour. Also the hubs should be the same colour.

i tend to be quite heavy on back wheels, so my xc bikes tend to have a slightly burlier rim on the back. fronts can be lighter if running suspension so why not. aesthetics are very important to me but budget and ride ar more so.

 I just must go out tomorrow. But will have odd wheels on. A yellow Hugi on the back and a black Hope on front. But my Hope is having the drive side DT Revolutions put back.
It will be nice and sunny tomorrow can't miss just because the wheels are different.
That is my confession
