Hi old bloke here with my old Marin Rocky Ridge. 94’ had it nearly 30 years and been in a loft for a decade, really want to restore it however the aluminium 7005 heat treated frame is in need of a good polish it’s all cloudy / mottled is it possible to get this done ? Like back to a proper shine ? Want to do this for my 50th 🤷🏻‍♂️ any advice would be massively appreciated 👍 I’ll post pics

Aluminium Marins of this era were lacquered. They pretty much all suffered the same fate. The good news is that you can strip the lacquer. The bad news is that you will need to replace the decals. After you've put your everything into polishing it. Plenty of polishing threads to be found here but basically sand, sand, sand with increasingly fine grades of paper and then polish, polish, polish. A polishing mop will save you a lot of time in the polishing stages but the sanding prep will mean you get a better finish
